What's "THE END" going to look like?

okay, so its no secret that many of us are hoping to see the downfall of the wtbts (or at least a mass exodous of jws away from them anyway).

i was wondering if you had any thoughts on what this might look like?.

we all know that most every jw has their doubts, large and small, but is afraid to speak due to the illusion of unanimity and self censorship .

I've noticed that a lot of people are just in for the social aspect. For them, it's more of a social club. A place where you get a chance at making many friends, being popular, social activities, etc. I could see this religion becoming mainly a lifestyle thing in the relatively near future.

Bingo! Nothing more, nothing less. A big buffet where what's liked/applicable is accepted and the rest is just ignored by most; exactly what the Org is to many a JW today.

How many of you followed the WTS direction on education years ago and have been screwed by it?

i'm really interested in this question because i've heard for years that if you forgo further education and go pioneering, when you have a family down the track you will get a good job because jehovah will provide for you because you pioneered.

as long as i was a kool-aid drinker, even then, i thought, "how does pioneering pay your bills?

surely education should come first.

Today's Hispanic JWs generally have smarttened up and are taking care of theirs and their kids' education. I mean, middle aged JWs are taking courses online in order to progress at their place of work.

It's a really good thing because, at least in this Country, a High School education won't get anybody any serious income with which to support oneself, much less a family.

Having said that, I look around the congs and there are many that won't have enough to survive if not for the Government handouts now in their old age. They toed the Org's line on education and now they'll sadly pay the price. In the excellent USA, the government will provide safety nets, but in many other countries their reality will be tough.

Hopefully, God will provide.

A question for the Trolley & Cosmopolitan Witnesses

ask them why not one scripture states that christians were instructed to be "witnesses of jehovah".. when they get flustered and tongue-tied because they cannot cite a single verse from matthew to revelation to back up their scripturally false "designer label", inform them that there are at least 30 scriptures which clearly show show that christians are to be witnesses for christ, not god!.

(isaiah 62:2) and you will be called by a new name, which jehovahs own mouth will designate.. (acts 11:26) ..........in antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called christians.. .

(matthew 10:18) ....before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.. (mark 13:9) .......be put on the stand before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them.. (acts 1:8) ...........you will be witnesses of me in jerusalem, in all judea and samaria...... (john 1:15) john bore witness about him,.

Now there, you've got a wonderful foundation for the true religion which shall be called.... Jesus' Witnesses (?); there's already one based in Puerto Rico called "Testigos De Jesus". They're not doing that good, though.

Reinstatement via Old Cong.

i've applied to be reinstatement in a new city after attending meetings for a bit.

i wrote my letter and they heard my case.

they were very helpful.

I stand by my comments which are truthful from my standpoint and what my experience has been throughout the decades.

I form part of a large family where there are several members in positions of leadership inside the Org, and believe me, it takes a lot to get kicked out these days. Elders try all kinds of avenues to provide help and avoid disfellowshipping anyone. However, you get these knuckleheads that insist in a blatant behavior in opposition to our beliefs. Well, then....

As much a moderate/ultra-liberal JW as I am and so are the group I roll with, no doubt, some deserve what they get.

Some cannot be helped. Even God knows that, hence all the exterminations the Bible talks about, and the one still looming ahead. Some just cannot be helped.

Hey, listen, we're this little association of people, so small some even call it a 'cult'; it's difficult to conform, I know, but the option of finding some other place is there and abundant places to try.

Based on what I've read from Startingover13, when reinstatement finally happens he/she will still be here talking about being all unhappy, frustrated, disappointment, etc. It'd be best if he/she would take his/her business where happiness is easier found.

What part of "It's an ever evolving religious organization" don't you all understand?

How about quotes from literature published 2012 'til today's date.

It's like being stuck in the birth days of some of our better technologies today: Flight, computers, movies/tv, etc.

Keep it fresh, will you? It'll be better for y'all's psyche this way.

Regurgitating old info like this is what has the vast majority of you all stuck in your ex-JW rut. Just saying!

There won't be an 'End' per say, just a continuous evolution of sorts. It's been like this for years. I mean, for JWs that quit during the 70s/80s fiascos, coming back has meant to realizing it's a totally new entity, with some few basic still unchanged teachings, but still sooooo different that they have to learn it all over again. For crying out loud, even the stronghold of the 'no blood' doctrine has been relaxed!

The Org has evolved so much that now it has created similar apathy to what the members of other religions show; take for example the Catholics, so many of them just show up to their worship during Easter and Christmas mass, many just a few more times each year, nothing serious. Well, that same attitude is among so many a JWs today that it's really sobering. Even the new recruits aren't as strong anymore, just very relaxed and going with the flow.

Personally, I rather enjoy it that way. So many like me inside that it has made it a very comfortable place for us kindred spirits.

Accept my comments/arguments, don't accept'em, don't matter.

They're my assessment based on my own and very old experience, my reality. Just the way it is.

Believe you me, the average Hispanic JW couldn't care any less about 'NGO'/Investments/etc. stuff. They don't even understand the concepts, much less care.

We're just a gregarious bunch, really happy about the social interactions while trying to keep some sort of biblical morality; and the rest can just fall where it may and we wouldn't even notice, and if we did, didn't care.
